Summer Camp Counselor Kevin’s Halloween in Milwaukee with Umphrey’s McGee

As temperatures began dropping in Wisconsin, my home of Milwaukee had become home to some of huge musical acts to take the sting off the changing of the seasons. A majority of this action was centered around The Riverside Theater, located in the heart of Milwaukee’s downtown. I had the pleasure of being able to see multiple friends I had met at Summer Camp Music Festival from different sold out weekends from bands such as String Cheese Incident, Widespread Panic, and finally Umphrey’s McGee to cap off a three weekend packed schedule. Although I was unable to go to String Cheese and Widespread, I had my tickets to all three nights of Umphrey’s and was ready to rage, rest, and repeat for the entire weekend. This whole month, coined #Rocktober in Milwaukee, brought veteran acts from Summer Camp Music Festival to venues throughout the city including shows from Tauk, Lettuce, Blues Traveler, and Papadosio. Another fantastic opportunity that these huge headlining shows coming though Brew City gave local and up and coming acts chances to open and to play after parties to large crowds. Fire on Water, Mo’s Irish Pub, and Umphrey’s Mcgee themselves at The Riverside hosted Summer Camp favorites such as North American Scum, The Motet, and Chicago Funk Mafia, along with other local and regional favorites such as BRAGE, Conundrum, The Erotic Adventures of Static Chicken, and Bowser Band. October was packed, but the final weekend was here which meant my first time seeing Umphrey’s Mcgee since May in Chillicothe.
