Camp Counselor Kyle Gets Cheesy with The String Cheese Incident

If you had the chance to see them on their recent run, you know what I’m talking about. These guys are phenomenal musicians. What can start out as bluegrass, can easily transition to electronic, to straight up funk and jam and that’s what I love about them! A moment that stuck out in my head from this night was their 2nd set opener, Colorado Bluebird Sky. It was an awesome way to start back up after a 30 minute set break! I traveled 2.5 hours from Buffalo to Syracuse for this show, and it was my first time attending a newer venue there, F Shed at the Market. I wasn’t aware that the name was literal; It was literally Shed F at the market they have there. It was slightly confusing going it, but glad I was saw them there! It was an awesome place to see an act like them. Plenty of room for dancing! The set was everything I could have asked for an more from a band that I haven’t seen in nearly 2 years. The only regret I have is not seeing more of them on this run! Just check out the setlist from this show:

Set 1: Valley of the Jig, Eye Know Why, San Jose’*, Doin’ My Time > Chameleon, Love Is Like A Train > On The Road

Set 2: Colorado Bluebird Sky, Rhythm of the Road > Blackberry Blossom#, Stay Through, Joyful Sound, Colliding, Rollover

Encore: Rolling In My Sweet Baby’s Arms

* = last time played 8/2/13 (88 Incidents) # = featuring “Back to the Future” Jam

I was very happy to get a San Jose in there. This show also happened to fall on the “Back To The Future” night, so I saw a couple Marty McFly’s! If you’re hoping to see them for yourself, your next chance will be a 3 night New Years Run in Broomfield, CO. scikyle2]]>
