SOAP

They combine jazz, psychedelic, electronic, and progressive rock into a unique sound all its own. Not only does this group produce stellar original music, they also treat their fans with some amazing covers (Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin) that you do not want to miss! Be sure to check out this interview with SOAP at SCamp 2015 from Camp Counselor Alex D! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm6fHkEKD3I&feature=youtu.be

Here Come the Mummies

[caption id="attachment_22555" align="aligncenter" width="960"]photos by camp counselor bailey | website Photos by Camp Counselor Bailey | Website[/caption] It’s time to raise your Freak Flag and continue the Everlasting Party because Here Come the Mummies are coming BACK to Summer Camp 2016! Dressed to impress in full-on mummy garb, these Funk Masters always put on a fun, high energy show and have an incredible stage presence. With their raunchy lyrics, suggestive dance moves, and elaborate costumes, there is absolutely nothing not to love about Here Come The Mummies! They’re creepy, they’re theatrical, and they’re down right dirty. But best of all, they are FUNKY! In addition to their spectacular set last year, we witnessed as the Mummies joined in on moe.’s Sunday night set! I wonder what surprises they might have in store for this year? https://youtu.be/5Z04-yTT-Zk?list=PLI5Cjo5S9Hpyg8-NqcJR_ALfwdl1c3W_t

EOTO

[caption id="attachment_22558" align="aligncenter" width="838"]photo courtesy of phierce photo of fx media solutions Photo courtesy of Phierce Photo of FX Media Solutions | Website[/caption] It’s hard to believe that it has been almost ten years since Michael Travis and Jason Hahn of The String Cheese Incident came together to form what has become one of the most well-respected projects to come out of the festival scene. Showing their fans a very eclectic and new breed of electronic-influenced sound, EOTO shows are always guaranteed to be a wild ride. The fan base has steadily grown over the years allowing EOTO to really branch away from their Cheese-influenced roots and embrace an entirely different breed of admirers. Whether you are a fan of live music or EDM, you can find a home with the sounds of EOTO! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93ZaDv6O_K4

Greensky Bluegrass

[caption id="attachment_22557" align="aligncenter" width="838"]photo by camp counselor eric | website Photo by Camp Counselor Eric | Website[/caption] This Michigan-original band has spent the past 14 years building what rightly has earned them a title of Legend in the scene. Highly regarded as one of the best live bluegrass performers around, Greensky Bluegrass has always had a home at Summer Camp. The hauntingly beautiful voice of Paul Hoffman is something out this world. Known to play long, extremely energized, and sometimes psychedelic bluegrass sets, you better be sure to check them out! https://youtu.be/dpJGvO64b4k?list=PLI5Cjo5S9Hpyg8-NqcJR_ALfwdl1c3W_t

Keller Williams

[caption id="attachment_22559" align="aligncenter" width="683"]photo by camp counselor amanda | website Photo by Camp Counselor Amanda | Website[/caption] Veteran Summer Camp artist Keller Williams is back again for year 16 Summer Camp Music Festival. Since my children have basically been raised on his Kids album I for one am excited to see his show. This will be Summer Camp number 14 for Keller Williams. If you happened to be one of the lucky ones who caught his 2013 VIP lounge set and got to hear his awesome song “Gate Crashers Suck,” then you know how much of Keller’s heart is at Summer Camp. https://youtu.be/UmiHxLstFfo?list=PLI5Cjo5S9Hpyg8-NqcJR_ALfwdl1c3W_t

Chicago Farmer

[caption id="attachment_22560" align="aligncenter" width="576"]photo courtesy of chicago farmer Photo courtesy of Chicago Farmer[/caption] Chicago Farmer has been gracing the stages of Summer Camp since 2007. With his hometown of Delavan, IL. being close to the festival grounds it is no surprise that he is one of the favorites of SCampers time and time again. Hearing him sing about growing up in the area while standing on the grounds where he once enjoyed the festival purely as an attendee is something that feels magical when you are part of his audience. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SY-EtCrx5s

Brainchild

brain Brainchild first graced the Summer Camp stages back in 2005. It has been fun for the fans of this regional band to be able to share in the Summer Camp experience with them, watching their music and stage presence grow over the years. If you have not attended a Brainchild set at Summer Camp in the past, then I would highly encourage you to check out his set this year. Seeing the members of Brainchild sit in with Victor Wooten in 2013 has been one of my personal Summer Camp favorite moments. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0Po38TMXog

The Way Down Wanderers

71629eed-1473-4ead-9d69-719caf396eb44 The Way Down Wanderers are one of the newest members of the Summer Camp Family. This band brings a fun show that is unlike the others that you will see. Last year they even came into the crowd and played for their fans in a way that few artists have, encouraging fans to take note and expect more from the Summer Camp experience. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFDsgET7ohY

Still Shine

7fd7e1e1-b723-44ee-8de7-b0cdd111d0f44 Walking through Ulta is probably not the place where you expect to hear about Summer Camp, but living local to the festival grounds I run into folks all of the time. Yesterday, in fact, I ran into one of my favorites that I have met, and she was telling me that she was pretty excited for what was to come for Still Shine. After seeing the announcement that they would playing Summer Camp, I can only imagine that this means that their set is going to be bigger and better than it was before (and if you were there you know that it was already great!).

EGi.

7a08db9a-16ed-4378-91b4-402c0ecb09ff4 For those living in Chicago you may already know EGi., or Ethereal Groove Inc., from Chicago, Illinois. Just recently in 2015 I have gotten the chance to see them begin coming to my home city of Milwaukee on their conquest of Midwest touring. It will be a treat to see these guys playing at Summer Camp Music Festival in 2016, as they consistently put out high energy sets that seem to leave me dancing. Looking forward to hearing their new album titled “Plyatron” being released on March 5! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDRoCsZiPRk

Horseshoes & Hand Grenades

75086878-2c7f-4f99-9160-ccb812b87edb4 What goes better with Summer Camp Music Festival than knee-slapping the day away while drinking whiskey with thousands of your closest friends? Personally, I don’t think much can top that, so after seeing Wisconsin-natives Horseshoes & Hand Grenades added to the lineup I was nothing but smiles. I just got the chance to go see Horseshoes & Hand Grenades in Milwaukee, WI and was blown away with a two hour and fifteen minute barn burner of a set. Hopefully that set will hold me over till May. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dwTDq1LG1U

Sunsquabi

22b11909-cbf0-4eae-98c0-7818270abfa14 Although you may not know what a Sunsquabi is, if you like creamy funk influenced heavily by electronic music their set is not one to miss. Veteran SCampers may recognize their sounds from past Memorial Day weekends in Chillicothe as they have played on the old Grassroots California dome stage, and also for their sit-ins with artists such as Griz, Manic Focus, and others. Guitarist Kevin Donohue is known for his space-like guitar meshing with punchy bass from Andrew Clymer and crisp funky beats from Chris Anderson. Get your dancing shoes ready for this set at Summer Camp 2016. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uxU8r2_91U

Turkauz

73a9e970-da48-4227-aa60-fe12f5b3716d4 Last year at Summer Camp Music Festival, I heard raving reviews of a funk group called Turkuaz. Unfortunately, I missed this set last year, but after doing some more listening on Turkuaz I have been waiting for my chance to see them live. If a funky dance party is something that doesn’t interest you, I would stay away from this set! Their last album release named “Digitonium” is quickly becoming one of my favorites of 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGyiKcY3x8g]]>
