Summer Camp: On The Road in Madison with Camp Counselor Kevin

High Noon Saloon on February 13th to see some of the best local acts in Wisconsin. Instead of a block of text telling everyone about each band on the bill, I brought along my cameras and created a video of one song for each band to document the music-filled night.

Come out this January, February & March and support your favorite local bands as they compete for the chance to perform… Posted by Summer Camp Music Festival on Friday, 11 December 2015
Starting the night off was Milwaukee band, Low Down Sound. I had unfortunately only gotten to see Low Down Sound once before this night, but have listened to their album “Ride Into The Sun,” released back in 2015, on multiple occasions. They provided a strong performance that set the stage with the happy, carefree attitude that I have come to expect each summer in Chillicothe. Headed by singer and guitarist, Derek Ramnarace, Old Soul Society features a changing lineup which included acoustic instruments such as guitar, bass, cajon and violin. After the performance it was apparent that Old Soul Society was a band to watch, with their upcoming album due out later this month including this song, “Starry Night.” [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgeUjYLz84U[/embed] Shortly after, Milwaukee progressive-rockers Conundrum took the stage. I have been waiting on their debut album “Physiognomy” for over a year, which will finally be coming out on April 29th. Conundrum brought a guitar-shredding performance capped with an eleven minute “Configured Sabotage” off their upcoming album. Back in 2015, IFDAKAR won the On The Road Tour in Madison and was shooting for year two in a row. IFDAKAR has grown to be a well-established band in Wisconsin, commanding a dedicated following in both Madison and the nearby Fox Valley areas. Giving new truth to the Grateful Dead lyric, “The bus came by, and I got on.” IFDAKAR fans showed up on a bus ready to support and IFDAKAR was voted the winner of the Madison stop! This Wisconsin band has released three albums with their high octane bluegrass and folk music. This had been my first time getting to see them, and I still catch my foot stomping to their songs.
