Camp Counselor Kyle Urges You To Check out Aqueous at Summer Camp 2015

photo credit: lindsey robinson photography Photo Credit: Lindsey Robinson Photography For those that are totally unfamiliar with Buffalo, NY’s Aqueous, please pay attention because you NEED to get to know these guys! And for those who are familiar, I think you’ll find this is a great reminder of why they are worth a repeat viewing this Memorial Day Weekend…

  1. This is Aqueous’s 3rd consecutive year playing Summer Camp so they must be doing something right, right?? Show up to their set this year to ensure you have plenty of room to dance away with us and show them how we get down!
  2. These guys are committed. Last year, their drummer’s nose bled before they completed their first song during their Scamp set and he kept playing through it! The snare drum head is now framed!
  3. Last year’s scamp set featured a rap medley! Who doesn’t want to get down to shredding guitars with a mix of hip-hop? The medley included Dr. Dre’s Let Me Ride, Nuthin’ but a G, What’s the Difference, and more! With that sort of versatility, who knows what they will have up their sleeves this year!
  4. Mike (guitar and vocals) has performed with Everyone Orchestra, meaning he’s previously collaborated with Summer Camp favorites ranging from Umphrey’s Mcgee, Lettuce, and Trey Anastasio Band to Thievery Corporation and Floodwood! That takes talent, and leaves the possibility open of some cool collaborations during the band’s set.
  5. Aqueous just released their 3rd full length album “Cycles” in October of 2014. If you haven’t heard it before, I HIGHLY recommend you give it a listen! Or at the very least, give a listed to “Skyway”…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxX-923RCw8 Aqueous has some of the coolest fans out there! Just check out reasons they think you should check out their set this Memorial Day Weekend, and in the band in general!
  1. Take it from Kat: “It’s the perfect fusion of everything you love about jam bands, alternative rock, and the boys next store!

  2. Or from Eli: “Aqueous is that rare band that blends it’s myriad influences into a wholly unique sound, while also blending its individual components into a singular force.

  3. Or MG, who says: “It’s the band you didn’t know you really really liked.

  4. Darren raves “The vibrant energy and pure organic joy that endlessly emanates from these 4 dudes on stage is unmatched by just about anything. Gets ya right in the feels.

  5. And finally, says Layla: “From their multiple-genre-spanning compositions- each with a perfected balance between the intense and the light-hearted, seamless transitions, and daring improvisations- to their near-freakish ability to cover any piece of music from classical to a rap, folk to pop, new wave to jazz, to metal and more- they nail it, while making each uniquely their own. These smart, funny, gifted, and humble gentlemen impress- ALWAYS. They are chameleons who’s own evolving sound and vastly abundant light consistently shine through each piece performed. No song is ever played the same way twice, and with each song, one can FEEL as much as hear the seemingly supernatural connection betweeen the players, as well as that forged between them and those fortunate enough to be in their audiences. So I must warn all readers, once one encounters this band- particularly in a live show environment- there is no escaping addiction. Its Aqueous for life!

Basically, what I’m trying to get at is DON’T MISS THESE GUYS! You will not be disappointed! If you’re going into Summer Camp not knowing who these dudes are, get “acquainted” with them and make sure they are on your list to check out! In fact, check out a clip from last year’s Summer Camp set… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6h_wZlUAJ9g Aqueous is on an awesome tour leading up to Summer Camp!
