Camp Counselor Ålexander's Round One Picks

First Round of Artists Announcement, I have compiled a Spotify playlist of my top 10 juiciest songs to get excited about for this year’s festival. https://open.spotify.com/user/summercampfest/playlist/24C6jOH9cdTwIYJYWVHS6Y So let’s get started shall we?

  1. “Fearless” – The Infamous Stringdusters
This cover is dangerously addictive to listen to. Originally written by Pink Floyd introduced on their album Meddle, the song has found its way into the realm of the less known classics. I actually purchased this album on vinyl for my dad this past Christmas, so in compiling the playlist.. it was a given. fc 2. “Mr. Washington” – Nahko and Medicine for the People This song brings me back to the humble beginnings of Nahko’s career, one started in misty trees of the Pacific Northwest. And since I am spending my winter break in this christmas tree filled land, the spirit and nostalgia had me hit for Mr. Washington. 3. “Clint Eastwood” – Trey Anastasio Another CLASSIC cover. Just hope the Gorillaz will ever make an appearance? One can hope. 4. “Eyes of the Squirrel” – Primus sqeye1b Another less known song by the SCamp veterans Primus. It pretty much hits 11 on the weird scale. 5. “Mantis” – Umphrey’s Mcgee This song rips. I like the longer Umph journeys.. ’nuff said. 6. “Yodelittle” – moe. warts_and_all_volume_4 This version of “Yodelittle” was the first one I ever owned. It has a fun X-files intro for those who want to believe… 7. “Jamflowman” – Twiddle Rising and rising. These guys just keep getting better, and this song was certainly one that helped get their start. Catchy and fun… makes you wanna pick up a guitar and be just like the Jamflowman. 🙂 8. “Fixing a Hole” – The Wood Brothers Any reference to The Beatles in a tasteful style will always win my respect. 9. “Expanding Mind” – Manic Focus I’m picky when it comes to my electronic music. This guy just does it right. Always working to expand my mind. 220911-pastedgraphic-1-7 10. “Transformational” – The Werks Fresh off their latest release, “Transformational” was one of those songs that stuck out. Simple, rocking, and straightforward with a classic psychedelic feel. It just Werks! Thanks for checking it out! I hope it puts you in the right mood and off to a good start this New Year!!!  ]]>
