Camp Counselor Alex Interviews Kyle Hollingsworth of The String Cheese Incident (Video)

Every year, Summer Camp brings in one of the most charged up lineups of the entire festival circuit. Hundreds of bands flock from all over the country to perform at Three Sisters Park over Memorial Day weekend, in what has turned into the unofficial kickoff to the summer among the scene. Notorious Summer Camp performers from the past include Willie Nelson, Bob Weir, Steve Miller, Zac Brown, and Huey Lewis. This year Tom Petty was added to the list, and ’70s legend George Clinton of the P-Funk returned for another groovy performance. But who was I most excited to see on the bill? Kyle Hollingsworth. img_0222 The feline friendly, beer infused keyboardist from the genre-melding juggernaut jam band The String Cheese Incident made the journey to Summer Camp this year for a very special one hour set in the VIP Lounge, followed by an intimate beer tasting event sponsored by Goose Island. I was blessed and fortunate enough to not only taste some new brews alongside Kyle, but also sit down in the field for a brief interview. Watch below as Kyle answers questions on his Summer Camp memories, his thoughts on moe. and UM’s own beers, what band he’d like to collaborate with, and more!
