Camp Counselor Alex enjoys Keller Williams and The Motet at The Belly Up in San Diego

On the day of the show, I showed up to the venue 3 hrs early to find the man Keller Williams himself hanging outside talking with fans. I opened my mouth and said, “Hey Keller,” he responded, “Hi.” I walked away. For some reason I was more concerned about grabbing a bite to eat than hanging out and talking with a guitar jam legend. After a quick meal, I made my way back to the Belly Up and found myself examining the inside of the venue wall to wall. It’s a really unique venue, located within a couple blocks distance from the beach. Keller played a great set. He was actually the first act, with The Motet playing a “Late Night Dance Party”, as promoted on the flyer. This billing actually made for a great evening, as Keller classics like “Doobie In my Pocket” and “She Rolls” got the mood going right. img_3706 After Keller’s set was complete, The Motet hit the stage and played a solid 2 – 3 hr set. It was my first time seeing these guys (having missed their Late Night Set at Summer Camp 2014) and I was really impressed. I will certainly be keeping an eye on these guys for another chance to enjoy them in the future.  ]]>
