As a Camp Counselor and a frequent Summer Camper, I have learned a few things and had some amazing experiences. One of my favorites was spending some time at the Yodeladies booth where I got to help my fellow Summer Campers who needed some necessary goods. This experience by far offered me the best look into how I could give back as a Summer Camper and it made my soul shine. So this year I am going to attempt to put some more time into giving back through Participation Row. I really love that I will be able to meet my fellow Summer Campers while doing something important and giving back.

Get Your Own Ticket to the Make a Difference Celebration with Everyone Orchestra and All for Playing a Little Game
One of the most extraordinary sets that you can see each year at Summer Camp is the everyone orchestra that features a wide variety of your favorite artists all jamming together on one single stage. This unique experience takes place each year in the Red Barn. The way that you get the ticket into this awesome event is actually really simple. You just play the Make a Difference Treasure Hunt.
To get your Treasure Hunt pass stamped there are a few things that you will need to do, but don’t worry…I’m going to walk you through just how simple this really is.
- Take part in the Make a Difference raffle.
- Bring recycling/compost bags to the Sorting Center.
- Visit a non-profit.
- Participate in any Soul Shine Workshop.
- Visit the SOULPATCH.
- Take a picture of yourself performing an activity to make a difference and tag #SCampMakeADifference.
- Show your reusable water bottle off at Soul Lounge.
- Participate in any Soulshine Art Project.
Of course you will need to visit the SOULounge in the Soulshine Tent to get your treasure hunt map stamped….don’t forget that crucial part since that is how you will obtain your ticket.
Now if that all sounds like a lot, you might want to consider any of the following since they will guarantee you admittance into the Make a Difference Celebration with Everyone Orchestra.
- Participate in any NonProfit Drive. (This year there are several that you can choose from which you can read in detail about here.)
- Sustainable Concepts Green Team Butt Drive (Every day from 10 am – 5 pm @ the Sustainable Concepts Booth) Basically pick up nasty cigarette butts (12 oz cup worth) and all of the cigarette packaging materials.
- Conscious Alliance Canned Food Drive (Every day from 10 am – 5 pm @ Conscious Alliance Booth) Drop off 20 canned food items to get a poster or make the suggested monetary donation. All of the food will go to the East Peoria Area Food Bank!
