Umphrey’s Mondays and the 1up Colfax for a night of fun, charity and celebration. UM Mondays is a monthly meet up of likeminded Denver music fans who gather to watch an UM show in its entirety and often hold a raffle to raise awareness for a local cause. The great minds at Umphrey’s Mondays elected for a viewing of the recording of Umphrey’s 5-27-11 Summer Camp performance, a set that was special to me personally – unbeknownst to their UM Monday team, I was side stage that day in Chillicothe as part of my 2011 Summer Camp Counselor experience. Watching again four years later I could see my wife and I dancing side stage on the big screen – needless to say it was a great night, and in support of an absolutely stellar cause!
We heard from the UM Monday crew that it was one of their largest turnouts ever, which resulted in us collecting a BOATLOAD of donations for the Toys For Tots program. Only moments after doors opend, the line of Umphreaks bringing toys was stretched out the back of the venue. In return for their generosity, everyone donating received tickets to a raffle that included everything from Summer Camp passes… to a guided tour of the 15th Annual Summer Camp Music Festival lead by yours truly this Memorial Day Weekend! Here are some of my photos from the evening… Look like fun? Well, it’s happening again on Monday, March 23rd! Summer Camp is partnering with Umphrey’s Monday once more this Spring, this time to raise money and awareness for Rocky Mountain Crisis Parnters. As always, there will be an awesome giveaway in support of a good cause, and every attendee will receive one raffle ticket. Then, for every other dollar you donate to RMCP, you will receive an additional raffle ticket, with all proceeds raised going to help the RMCP in their mission to prevent suicide.
