We have a lot going on over here at Summer Camp this week:
- We will be releasing the schedule this Friday, 4/20!
- With the schedule announced, we will be putting single day tickets for SUNDAY ONLY on sale this Friday too! Sunday only tickets will be $65 in advance plus fees.
- Getting Closer ticket prices expire at 11:59pm on 4/20, so you should get yours now! Almost There ticket prices will be available on 4/21 for $200 plus fees.
- If you buy your tickets between now and 11:59pm on 4/20 you will be entered in a drawing to win a Summer Camp prize package including the new 2012 Summer Camp hat by Grassroots California!
- 4/20 is our founder Ian Goldberg’s birthday
- We have lots of contests going on, and a new one coming, so keep an eye on our Contests page.
- We still need volunteers! Sign up now!

Hey Campers,
We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a cell phone drive at the Cornmeal, Hot Buttered Rum and Family Groove Company show on 4/20 at the Vic Theater in Chicago. All of the cell phones will be donated to Special Olympics Illinois Area in Chicago to be recycled! The money that comes in turn from the recycled cell phones is used to purchase sporting equipment, uniforms, host tournaments and more for Special Olympics athletes and activities. This drive is part of Summer Camp Make a Difference and is also a Field Day event, so make sure you mention which team you’re supporting with each donation. Each cell phone donated will receive 1 raffle ticket for a chance to win 2 tickets to Summer Camp Music Festival and 2 tickets to the SOLD OUT UM BOWL III at the Park West in Chicago on 4/27. Ticket Prices are Going Up Next Friday! We have sold out of our Not So Early Bird tickets in record time! But, we are extending the Not So Early Bird price level until 5pm CST next Friday, March 2nd! So make sure you grab your tickets now before the price increases (even if you get them on layaway) and spread the word! Getting Closer tickets, and Getting Closer layaway tickets will be available after 5pm on March 2nd for $180.
Also, this week is the final week to enter the Shit Scampers Say Video Contest! You’ve all seen the videos. Shit Girls Say. Shit Ravers Say. So create your 1-3 minute Shit Scampers Say video for a chance to win a SUPER Deluxe VIP experience for 2 to the 2012 Summer Camp Music Festival. That means all 3 late nights, and ALL of the VIP treatment! The video should follow the same format at the other Shit people say videos (here’s a link if you’re unfamiliar). Hey Campers,
Its’ been a HUGE week for us at here at Summer Camp. To start, we had a lineup addition that we were so ridiculously excited for; we had to do it as its own separate leak. We are thrilled to announce that Jane’s Addiction will be joining us this year as one of our headlining acts!
Also, VIP upgrades and RV passes will be going on sale this Saturday at 1pm CST. For any first time Campers out there, there are 4 VIP upgrade options and 2 RV pass options. For VIP, there is the basic upgrade, the Deluxe upgrade, the Super Deluxe Upgrade, and the Rockstar Upgrade. With the basic upgrade you get 1 late night ticket of your choice included with your pass, for Deluxe you get 2, and for Super Deluxe and Rockstar you get all 3. Rockstar upgrades also give you backstage access where you can hang out with artists and enjoy complimentary drinks and snacks. All VIP upgrades come with a Thursday Pre-Party pass, VIP camping and parking (various levels) and a variety of Summer Camp merch and other perks. For RV passes, you can get a spot with electrical hookups or one without. Don’t forget, you must also have a 3-day pass in addition to any VIP upgrade or RV pass to get in! . If you’re interested in late night tickets, but not VIP, individual late night shows will sold online at a later date to be announced.
And last, but not least, so you know which late night(s) you want to go to, we announced our late night lineup! We’re excited that Les Claypool and the Dead Kenny G’s will be playing Friday night in the Red Barn; Gigantic Underground Conspiracy (featuring members of Big Gigantic, The Disco Biscuits and Conspirator) will be performing the late night show on Saturday night; and to end the weekend with a bang, Pretty Lights will be performing the late night show on Sunday night!
So make sure you get your VIP upgrades and RV passes early (RV passes will sell out!).

Hey Campers,
Umphrey’s McGee will be playing at The Canopy Club in Urbana, IL on February 19th….the weekend after Valentine’s Day! So we thought, in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, to bring a Booth Love Photo Booth to the event for charity.
At the Summer Camp Field Day table you will be able to buy raffle tickets to win passes to Summer Camp, merchandise and more. Each raffle ticket will give you 1 photo in the Booth Love photo booth. The $5 from each raffle ticket will go to benefit the Champaign County Humane Society in Urbana. Fans will have from 8pm-12am to enter and snap their Booth Love photos. Winners will be notified by text message by the end of the show and can come collect their prize at the Field Day table after the concert.
For another chance to win, after the concert, the Summer Camp Facebook page will post an album of the photos taken throughout the night. Tag yourself for a chance to win one of 3 Thursday Pre-Party Passes!
This is a Summer Camp Field Day event so every raffle ticket purchased will count for points for the Red, Yellow, Blue and Purple Team. The team that raises the most money for the Champaign County Humane Society will win the Booth Love event!
The Champaign County Humane Society is funded entirely by donations from generous animals lovers. They need our help to continue the high standard of care they offer to homeless animals. Your donations will make a difference in the life of a dog or cat, puppy or kitten, rabbit or guinea pig.

We’re excited to announce that Everyone Orchestra will once again be hosting this year’s celebration for the Make a Difference Treasure Hunt! When you take part in a few activities to Make a Difference at Summer Camp, you will earn tickets to this very special performance.
The Everyone Orchestra conductor/founder Matt Butler has taken its participants, both on stage and off, on improvisational journeys with the most diverse of lineups at festivals, theaters and philanthropic events both nationally and internationally. A laundry list of hundreds of musicians, dancers, singers, guest conductors and community organizations have embraced the experience of EO in single shots of musical adrenaline to the soul. Tuning in to his energy, the band and audience utilize The Conductor as their pivot to the set mood of each passing jam as he communicates with the musicians using hand signs, whiteboard and assorted mime suggestions.

You’ve all seen the videos. Shit Girls Say. Shit Yogis Say. Shit Prius Owners Say. Well we thought, SCampers say some pretty hilarious shit…there should be a Shit SCampers Say video. Which is why we’re excited to introduce the Shit SCampers Say video contest.
To enter, create a 1-3 minute video about Shit SCampers Say. The video should follow the same format at the other Shit people say videos (here’s a link if you’re unfamiliar).
Upload your video onto YouTube, and send a link to holly@jaytv.com by March 9th.
We will post all of the videos up on the Summer Camp web site, and select the top 10 entries. Then, it will be up to our Facebook fans to vote for their favorite.
The video with the most votes by March 23rd will be named the winner, and receive a SUPER Deluxe VIP experience for 2 to the 2012 Summer Camp Music Festival. That means all 3 late nights, and ALL of the VIP treatment. The next 4 videos with the most votes will EACH receive a 3-day pass to the festival for their hard work and creativity, and all top 10 entries will be shown at the 2012 Summer Camp Music Festival on the big screen!
