Here is some more info on the Purple Team from Online Purple Team Captain Nick Stock.

For those new to the Purple Team we are all about fun. We work hard and we play hard. We have an incredibly eclectic group on our team with some very talented purple people. Our team song from the 2011 Summer Camp was Start Wearing Purple by Gogol Bordello, our team mascot was the Cheshire Cat, and our team motto was, “Power to the Purple!” I look forward to getting our people involved in new ways, printing up some t-shirts, organizing some local events, and going back to Summer Camp 2012 as a strong, united team.

The Purple Team begins online where we come together and choose how we will represent ourselves at the festival. I was and continue to be involved on the Purple Team Facebook group. At Camp, Field Day is an all out colors war right smack in the middle of this amazing festival. I got the chance to play both Capture The Flag and Tug o’ War last year. We came from behind in Capture the Flag through the leadership of Chief against The Red Team. It came down to the wire with a shootout to eek out a victory. In Tug o’ War we were dominated by the Yellow Team. However it wasn’t really about the winning and losing, it was about the camaraderie and the doing something completely fun and unexpected at a jam fest.

As the online Purple Team captain I will work hard to get us all on the same page and prepare everyone for what is expected. I plan on pushing for a couple of new events like a disc golf putting challenge, which has been heavily requested online. I will work hard to take everyone’s suggestions and organizing our team’s thoughts on mascot, team song, theme, etc. I will also try hard to be fair about team assignments and to make sure that we stay organized. It’s up to you guys to commit to your events, show up, and win.

If you didn’t meet me last year, I was the first ever Summer Camp Counselor, and I look forward to continuing to be a part of this great festival.
