ASPIRING FILM MAKERS – Summer Camp Music Festival is looking for 5 people who know how to shoot great video! We want you to help us document this years festival. Working under the direction Jay Blakesberg you will be shooting bands on stage, off stage, back stage, fans, campers, hula hoopers, vendors, late night revelry, and everything in between! You MUST have high end video gear. Preferably a DSLR such as a Canon 5D Mark II or Mark III, or a Nikon D600 or D800 (we can discuss other gear options). We will hook you up with a festival production pass and even feed you some hamburgers! If you want to take on this super fun opportunity, email info@rockoutbooks.com. Please have cool video samples somewhere online as portfolio material. This is NOT for cell phone video shooters!

Thanks so much for the enormous outpouring of love and interest for this project! We are going through all the submissions and will be reaching out to you by mid next week if you were chosen.

Thursday Pre-Party
Summer Camp Music Festival opens the gates to Three Sisters Park one day before the festival officially starts for our Thursday Pre-Party. This is a chance for folks to come in a day early and snag the best camping/RV spots, catch up with friends and start the party early with some great music. Check out the daily schedule to see all the great artists performing at the Thursday Pre-Party!

Calling all LIVE VISUAL ARTISTS! We’re hosting a contest for our Live Art Gallery this year and we want one of YOU to win a spot in the gallery! Submit 5 pieces of your work to volunteers@summercampfestival.com by May 3rd for your chance to win a spot in the Summer Camp 2013 Live Art Gallery hosted by Make a Difference. We will then enter all submissions on our Facebook Contests app and everyone will have a chance to vote! The submission with the most votes by May 13th will win a spot in the Live Art Gallery!

Summer Camp Music Festival‘s Make a Difference and Field Day will be hosting a cellphone drive at the Umbowl IV on April 26, 2013 at Park West in Chicago ! The drive will support Special Olympics Illinois! Bring a cell phone to be recycled and you will be entered for a chance to win a ticket to Moe. and Yonder Mountain String Band Late Night show in the Red Barn presented by Technaflora! Every cell phone your bring will get you another entry, so the more donations you bring, the better your chances are to win great prizes.
Special Olympics Illinois is truly reaching and changing the lives of children and adults with intellectual disabilities in more ways than ever before. Special Olympics Illinois athletes have opportunities to participate in training and competitions in 19 sports throughout the year. The Make A Difference area at Summer Camp is a space for collective consciousness. The Soulshine Tent in the Make A Difference area at the festival is a place to increase your social and environmental awareness by learning about the nonprofit organizations on site, take in an acoustic set for a good cause, participate in workshops and activities and so much more. With activities around the clock, the Make A Difference Area will provide you with an eye opening, and maybe even transforming, experience. Throughout the year, Summer Camp’s Make A Difference sponsors all kinds of drives at Summer Camp related artist shows in an attempt to raise awareness and goods for worthy causes.
