The Soulshine Tent
The Soulshine Tent, part of the Make a Difference family, brings you a daily dose of loving goodness to empower, inspire, and educate you with the tools for a sustainable world! Offering a series of hands on and interactive activities throughout the festival to show you the many ways you can Make a Difference, the tent is packed with alternatives to your general festival madness. Daily workshops, live bands, acoustic special sets from headlining artists, discussions, and open mic will be alongside ongoing demonstrations, and education. Be sure to checkout the ongoing activities like the community murals with artist Mike Mayosky, the eco-clothing swap, hula hooping classes, the Live Art Gallery and AM/PM yoga by Heading OM. Many of the acoustic sets include discussions with Summer Camp artists and representatives from the non-profit organizations about ways to get involved in civic engagement and activism. The Soulshine Tent also has hands on art projects, recycling and environmental education projects, instrument building and so much more.

2013 Projects and Activities Held in the Soulshine Tent
Bloom HS Renewable Energy Outreach
Bloom High School is located in Chicago Heights, IL. Our science teachers have been dedicated to greening the school and teaching our students, as well as other schools, how to be green. We have many on-going green projects, such as school wide recycling, an organic greenhouse, a rooftop garden, gray water recycling, brownfield education, development of green curriculum in all subjects, biofuel production, and renewable energy outreach programs. We are committed to teaching our students about environmental issues and sustainable living practices. We are very proud of our outreach program where our students travel in the Bloom Biodiesel Bus to k-12 schools, environmental/ Earth Day events, and parades to teach about climate change and renewable energy solutions. We believe Americans need to be made aware of the choices they have, to make our Earth a better place. Stop by and say hello to show your support for our Earth and the biodiesel bus project.
Mack Glass
Mack Glass artists return to the Soulshine tent this year to demonstrate the ancient craft of glassblowing. Over the course of three days, artists will work to create a unique glass sculpture inspired by the spirit of Summer Camp and its Campers. So what will it be? Find out as you watch each artist build a portion of the sculpture before combining all the parts to create the final work. Artists will also demonstrate the process of turning recycled beer and wine bottles into fine art jewelry.
